Fiberglass Pool Repair for Cracks, Blisters, and Damaged Surfaces

Fiberglass pool repair from Aqua Creations covers cracks, blisters, chips, and worn areas on fiberglass pools and spas. The same in-house crews who apply AQUA-GLASS™ do the repair, and if a patch will not hold, we tell you before you pay for one.

Repair or resurface?

Three questions before you call

Answer from what you can see on the deck. It does not replace an inspection, but it tells you which conversation to expect when we arrive.

1. How much of the pool is affected?
2. What does the damage look like?
3. Has this area been repaired before?
Answer all three questions

Most repair calls fall into one of three answers

Small, isolated damage on a sound surface is usually a repair. A few blisters or several separate spots need a closer look. Widespread, soft, chalky, or recurring damage usually means the surface layer has reached the end of its life.

How a fiberglass repair visit works

Repairable and non-repairable damage can look alike from the deck. That is why every job starts with an inspection on site, not a price over the phone.

  • Inspect the surfaceWe map the visible damage, press for soft or spongy areas, and look for the scattered blistering that points to water behind the surface.
  • Ask about the historyWater chemistry, earlier repairs, and the age of the surface all change what a crack or blister means for your pool.
  • Show you what we foundWe point out the problem areas and explain plainly whether a repair will hold or whether resurfacing is the better use of your money.
  • Do the work with our crewRepairs and resurfacing are handled by Aqua Creations employees. We never hand the job to a subcontractor.

If the answer is resurfacing, the pool gets our gun-laminated AQUA-GLASS™ system, and our fiberglass pool resurfacing page covers each stage.

What we repair

Fiberglass repair services for pools and spas

Each of these is handled by our own in-house crew, the same people who apply AQUA-GLASS™.

Fiberglass pool crack repair

Hairline crazing, single cracks across steps and benches, and cracks that let water behind the surface are three different problems. We tell you which one you have, because each gets a different fix.

  • Hairline and spider cracks in the surface layer
  • Cracks on steps, benches, and walls
  • Cracks that let water behind the surface

Fiberglass pool surface repair

Blisters, rough patches, chips, and isolated discoloration on a surface that is otherwise sound.

Fiberglass spa repair

Spas take heat and constant use. We repair fiberglass spa surfaces too, and our spa resurfacing page covers the full refinish.

Refinishing and restoration

When a fiberglass surface is faded and chalky everywhere, refinishing the whole pool beats chasing one spot after another.

Fiberglass coating application

New laminate applied with our AQUA-GLASS™ fiberglass finish system, in custom colors.

Principle before profit

A straight answer on repair versus resurfacing

Aqua Creations has repaired and resurfaced pools since 1991, and the company has run on one rule the whole time: principle before profit. For repair work, that means a straight answer. If a targeted repair will hold, we recommend it, even though resurfacing is the bigger job.

It also means we will not sell you a repair on a surface that is failing everywhere. A patch on a pool that is soft or blistering throughout tends to fail again, and you end up paying for the repair and then the resurfacing.

Very professional crew. It was obvious they know what they are doing. The attention to detail through the whole process was appreciated.

Repair questions

Fiberglass pool repair, answered

Can a cracked fiberglass pool be repaired?

Often, yes. Fiberglass pool repair works well on hairline cracks and isolated damage when the laminate underneath is still sound. Cracks that run through into the laminate, or cracking spread across much of the pool, usually point to resurfacing instead.

What causes blisters on a fiberglass pool?

Blisters form when water gets through the surface layer and is trapped between layers, often after long stretches of unbalanced water chemistry. A few isolated blisters are usually repairable. Blistering spread across the pool generally means the surface has to come off and be resurfaced, because spot repairs do not stop it.

Do you repair fiberglass spas too?

Yes. Fiberglass spa repair is part of our fiberglass repair service, and we can assess the spa along with the pool. If the spa surface is worn out overall rather than damaged in one spot, resurfacing it is usually the better fix.

Is the assessment free?

Yes. We offer free fiberglass pool repair assessments across Southern California and the Central Coast, with no obligation to book the work. You will know what we found and what we recommend before you decide anything.
