Pool Resurfacing in Los Olivos, CA for Village Homes and Ranch Pools
Aqua Creations handles pool resurfacing in Los Olivos for backyard pools in the village and on the ranch and vineyard properties around it. Homes here draw district water or run on a private well, and our AQUA-GLASS™ crews drive up from the Ventura shop, about 57 miles away in a straight line.

Two water questions Los Olivos owners ask
District water or a private well: the answer changes what fills your pool. Anything else, call and ask.
Los Olivos is one of the valley towns we cover across Santa Barbara County.
Los Olivos is served by the Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District, Improvement District No. 1, the same district that serves Santa Ynez and Ballard. Its 2025 report lists groundwater averaging 425 mg/L of hardness, about 25 grains per gallon, and State Water averaging 90 mg/L, about 5 grains. What reaches your hose depends on the mix the district is delivering.
No. A private well has its own chemistry, and the district report says nothing about it. A recent lab test of your well is the number to go by, and if you have one, have it handy when we come out. Very hard well water scales a porous plaster surface faster than a smooth fiberglass one.
What a finished resurface felt like to one owner
A Google review of our work, in the customer's own words.
Aqua Creations just completed the resurfacing of my pool. The project only took two weeks from draining the pool to refilling the pool. It turned out amazing! Kyle was great, all the workers were professional, very clean and took pride in their work. I can without reservation recomend Aqua Creations for your project. Mike Sanders
Low 90s in August, most of the rain in winter
NOAA keeps no climate normals station in Los Olivos itself. The nearest one with temperature records is at Cachuma Lake, about 9.5 miles southeast along Highway 154, on the same inland side of the mountains.
A resurface happens with the pool drained, and the new finish goes onto a dry shell. Rain is the weather most likely to move a start date here, and nearly all of it falls from November through March. June through September are close to dry.
Summer heat and winter cold matter too, since every finish has temperature limits while it cures. Valley afternoons here are far warmer than on the coast, and December nights fall close to freezing.

The surface we replace, and a pool after the work
From our project photos. Most older pools here were finished in plaster; see our plaster pool resurfacing page if you plan to stay with cement. AQUA-GLASS™ is laminated over the old surface with chopper guns rather than troweled on, and our fiberglass pool resurfacing page explains how.

Three neighbors, three different water stories
Distances are straight-line from the center of Los Olivos. The towns sit a few minutes apart, but the water that fills their pools does not all come from the same place.
Santa Ynez
Same district water as Los Olivos, Improvement District No. 1, so the same two sources reach the hose.

Los Olivos is a small place, so its pools that serve the public are few: a pool at an inn, a vacation rental, a winery guest house, or a ranch that hosts events. If yours is one of them, the owner has two questions a homeowner does not: how long the pool is closed, and what the county needs before guests swim again.
In Santa Barbara County, public swimming facilities fall under the recreational health program at County Environmental Health Services. Talk to that office early, and tell us at the estimate who uses the pool. Public pools follow the health agency's approved finish rules, so we do not offer custom colors on hotel, apartment, or HOA pools. For inns and resorts, our hotel pool resurfacing page covers closures and scheduling in more detail.
